Taliesin West
Some of Frank Lloyd Wright’s work emphasizes the idea of a building
growing out of its local environment. His Taliesin West house is a good
example of the kind of natural, rustic beauty that we are looking for in
our own house (click to enlarge):
if i were planning out a strategy for what materials to use, i would use for a home like you want this one to be, i would use the natural setting (red rock) and glass as much as possible. especially in the living area where i assume quite a bit of reading will be done. i love angled floor to ceiling glass walls. things to consider or keeping them clean and the heat. if you could afford to get one panel to cover the whole things that could frost, that would be ideal.
